This is a very rare and beautiful example of English tableware from the second half of the 18th century. A cobalt blue lead glass spice shaker or muffineer having beautiful pulled white marbrie decoration. One would fill the shaker through the corked opening in the base. A similar shaker is in the Winterthur Museum in a teal blue color with diamond molding, though it appears the mouth on their example may have some of the height missing from it. It can be seen here - http://museumcollection.winterthur.org/single-record.php?resultsperpage=20&view=catalog&srchtype=advanced&hasImage=&ObjObjectName=&CreOrigin=&Earliest=&Latest=&CreCreatorLocal_tab=&materialsearch=&ObjObjectID=&ObjCategory=Glass&DesMaterial_tab=&DesTechnique_tab=&AccCreditLineLocal=&CreMarkSignature=&recid=1959.3092&srchfld=&srchtxt=muffineer&id=0ff4&rownum=1&version=100&src=results-imagelink  This example is 12 centimeters (4.75 inches) tall and undamaged.
