This is a beautiful little scent bottle in opalescent white glass and enamel decoration from the alpine region of Central Europe. A very fine example having the ruffled collar. The hand is showing the figa sign with the thumb between the fingers. This sign has had many meanings over the centuries some positive and some negative. In this instance, being used as a ladie's scent bottle I think it was either a good luck symbol or to ward off evil. Length 9.52 centimeters (3.75 inches). Minor losses to the enamel can be seen on the edge of the ruffled cuff, otherwise very good original condition.
