This is a very rare blown footed bowl or compote made in Pittsburgh circa 1830. The top rim is folded out and it sits on a funnel foot with the edge folded under. This same type of engraved work can be seen in the book Artisty and Innovation in Pittsburgh Glass 1808-1882 by Palmer on page 175. This bowl came out of a Louisville, KY estate. One tiny flake off the inside top edge otherwise undamaged. An extremely rare example of Pittsburgh engraved work. Height: 6 5/8", top diameter: 8.75 inches.
