Rare cranberry cut to clear dip pen made by Aiken Lambert, makers and exporters of fine writing instruments who were located in New York and Chicago. Whoever could cut this delicate piece must have had the hands of a surgeon! They probably contracted out the glasswork to Dorflinger or a similar glassworks doing fine cut overlay work. The metal is gold plated. I have only seen one other cut overlay pen and it was sold by Woody Auction in Kansas for $2650 and it can be seen in this link - https://www.liveauctioneers.com/item/110558633_quill-pen-handle-bpcg-cranberry-cut-to-clear/?fbclid=IwY2xjawIN9_ZleHRuA2FlbQIxMAABHRhU7HOT8eUD8JtCJcJ_SkisCIsFHfkaP6vLsGh4wQkUPS3odpIiMP_rqA_aem_v9zR6lvENXB8XZRmI4TRAA Length about 6.25 inches long. Undamaged.
