This rare candlestick has qualities that lead me to beleive this was made at the Kungsholms Glassworks in Stockholm in the late 17th century. It is made from nonllead glass. The socket base is gadrooned having 16 ribs, the same number of ribs that was used for the hollow knop of the stem and also for the foot. The foot edge has been folded under. The Kungsholms Glassworks imported Italian glassblowers from England in the 17th century so this explains the facon de Venise style of this candlestick. Undamaged. Height: 20.32 cm (8 inches).
