Extremely rare and large cut overaly pitcher in ruby cut to clear glass having an applied ruby handle and an applied clear foot with a cut 16 point star. The cutting pattern on this pitcher is called the Washington cut. The handle has a cut thumb rest and the handle terminal has been cut as well. Overall height is 10.75 inches. Made by the New England Glass Company or Boston & Sandwish circa 1850-60. Condition: there is a small chip off the lower handle terminal that mainly goes behind the handle so it is very unnoticable.
