This is a truly outstanding and unique coin goblet containing a English 1680 dated coin within a bubble of glass affixed to the inside bottom of the goblet's bowl. This sits on a hollow inscised inverted pear shaped quatrefoil stem and domed foot with folded rim. Lead glass, circa 1680. This is from the pioneer collector of English glass C. Kirkby Mason and is shown on plate LV in W.A. Thorpe's book titled A History of English And Irish Glass Thorpe also says the inverted pear shaped quatrefoil stem when out of vogue by 1680 so in this case the coin may actually represent the year or very close to it that this unique glass was made. Height 17.14 centimeters (6.75 inches). Undamaged. As good as it gets and with the best provenance.

Incredible 17th Century English Coin Goblet.
