Standing just 6.35 centimeters (2.5 inches) tall, this is the smallest English 17th century shaft & globe bottle I have ever seen. What makes this bottle really stand out is that it does not appear to have ever been buried, for it has it's wonderful original surface. It is also undamaged aside from normal wear of a bottle over 300 years old. This came out of an Oxford estate along with another 17th century small bottle I will be listing soon. A similar miniature shaft & globe was sold by BBR Auctions in England last year, described as 2.7 inches tall, it was dug, stained, and it had a V shaped chip out of the lip that extended down to the applied string. In spite of the condition it sold for 11,500 GBP (15K USD). This example has that one beat in both size and condition. A very rare opportunity to own the finest miniature English shaft & globe.
