Another very beautiful piece made by the New England Glass Company in amethyst cut to clear and having much of the gold and silver gilt still intact. I believe the NEGC may be the only ones who combined silver and gold leaf like this. the flower blossoms are all in silver leaf. The stopper is no doubt the correct stopper stylistically and the color a perfect match and it is gilded,  but the fit is not perfect. I suspect there were a pair of these and the stoppers became switched at some point. The stopper actually sits up a bit higher than normal so it is possible the plug could be taken down by a glass restorer and made to be a better fit. Displays beautifully. Height: 14.5 inches.
