This flask is a rare example of enamel work by William Beilby. There are only three decorated flasks by him recorded, including this one. Another is in the Ashmolean Museum in Oxford and the third one was sold at auction here in the United States just last year and can be seen here in this link - https://live.jeffreysevans.com/online-auctions/jeffrey-evans/important-william-beilby-english-1740-1819-attributed-free-blown-and-enamel-decorated-presentation-flask-6806668 This flask here stands out from the other two in a number of ways, for one it is decorated on two sides where the others just on one and for two the use of yellow and red colored enamel were also used in addition to the white enamel. This flask also has the distinction of having an applied tin closure (cap missing). Made for Andrew Dawson in 1766. The tin closure on this flask is very similar to the tin closure on an English snuff mull that I also have for sale at this time. Height is 15.24 centimeters (6 inches). Aside from the missing tin cap the flask is in great condition. The use of colored enamel and the fact it is decorated on two sides makes this the finest of the three Beilby flasks known. A once in a lifetime opportunity for a Beilby collector.
